ECO-ONE, the leading platform in sustainability and circular economy for the hotel sector, is entering a new stage of expansion following the incorporation of the Portuguese investment fund 3XP Global as a strategic partner. The transaction, involving an investment of 765,000 euros, represents a decisive endorsement of the company’s model and strengthens its position as a key player in the sustainable transformation of the hotel industry.
With this alliance, the Valencia-based startup ECO-ONE consolidates its growth in Spain and France—where it has already worked with more than 2,300 hotels—and moves forward in its internationalization strategy with the official launch of the Portuguese market, where it has set up a new company to drive its development in Europe.
“The entry of 3XP Global, a venture capital firm specialized in impact investments, is a major boost for the international expansion of ECO-ONE. It is a strong endorsement of our model and allows us to accelerate a transformation that the hotel sector is already demanding: more sustainability, more innovation and more professionalization,” says Carlos Fluixá, co-founder and CEO of the company.
The transaction comes at a moment of maturity for ECO-ONE, supported by the solidity of the projects it has rolled out in recent months. Its sustainability training program, adopted by hotel chains such as Palladium Hotel Group, H10 Hotels and Catalonia Hotels & Resorts—where more than 7,000 employees have been trained—has become a cornerstone for the professionalization of the sector, helping create a stronger environmental culture among hotel teams.
Furthermore, the company has implemented circular economy initiatives that have sparked strong interest. Notable among them is the project developed with the ME Reina Victoria hotel, where the recovery and sale of furniture prevented more than 43 tons of waste, demonstrating that sustainability can generate tangible and measurable benefits for hotels.
In parallel, ECO-ONE has strengthened its focus on innovation with solutions that connect the guest experience with a positive environmental impact. A standout example is the project known as “the room that cleans the sea,” developed together with the startup Gravity Wave, and already implemented by chains such as Magic Hotel Group and Port Hotels. The project adds a strong emotional component to the travel experience, allowing guests to participate in a sustainable initiative through a simple decision: opting out of daily room cleaning in exchange for the hotel financing the removal of plastic from Mediterranean seas and ports. To date, this initiative has enabled the removal of more than 13,000 kg of plastic.
This combination of sustainability, innovation and commitment has been decisive for the company’s growth and recognition in international markets.
ECO-ONE’s expansion beyond Spain has also recently gained strength in France, where it organized its first Sustainability Conference for Luxury Hotels in partnership with the iconic Ritz Paris. The event brought together nearly 150 executives, sustainability managers and hotel sector representatives, highlighting the company’s growing presence in one of Europe’s key markets.
With the incorporation of 3XP Global, ECO-ONE is preparing to accelerate its roadmap, further professionalize its structure and reinforce its capacity to scale impactful solutions. The company enters this new phase with a clear objective: to lead the transition toward a more responsible, efficient and environmentally aligned hotel model.
