DomusVi, the European leader in senior care, housing, and services, has announced that it has concluded the sale agreement of its Spanish mental health subsidiary, Mentalia, to Neural.

This strategic decision is part of DomusVi’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its position as a dedicated expert in elderly housing, care, and support services. By divesting its mental health operations in Spain, the group will sharpen its focus on its core mission: enhancing the lives of seniors and their families through high-quality care, personalized services, and suitable living solutions.

Neural specializes in neurorehabilitation, neurodevelopment, and mental health, and is one of the foremost players in Spain’s socio-healthcare landscape. The transaction is supported by Peninsula Capital, a private equity firm dedicated to strategic growth in key sectors such as healthcare, wellness, and services. The proposed deal is subject to approval by the competition and regulatory authorities.

José María Pena, CEO of DomusVi Spain, commented: "This strategic move is fully aligned with DomusVi’s commitment to focus on our core areas in Spain: senior care, housing, and support services. We are convinced that Mentalia’s future is in excellent hands with Neural, a highly experienced and specialized operator in the mental health sector. Their strong expertise and ambitious vision for innovation and development make them the ideal partner to continue and elevate the work done so far. I also want to extend my heartfelt thanks and congratulations to all the teams who played a key role in making this agreement a reality."
