The DeepTech Madrid program strengthens its support in 2025 for the creation and development of technology startups emerging from scientific research conducted at universities and research centers in the region.

Over its two editions, the program has supported 43 science-based entrepreneurial projects with teams from universities and research institutions, and 37 deeptech startups in areas such as the environment, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and oncology. These startups have received financial support of up to €55,000 per company, specialized advisory services, training, investment guidance, and access to management talent through the DeepTech Madrid Platform.

Eight of the 27 project-promoter teams participating in the 2024 edition have created new high-potential companies, while the rest continue advancing through technological validation and business model development phases. Notable new deeptech companies include Microsei Biotech, specializing in gut microbiota analysis; Surevision Tech, with an innovative ocular refraction device; Qoolnet, focused on cybersecurity against quantum threats; Imhotech, for treating keloid and hypertrophic scars; Stone 161, for preventing and controlling erosion in degraded areas; Onco Care, offering a new analysis service in oncology; and Crystal Semiconductor, focused on crystal growth, microelectronics, and sensor manufacturing.

According to Dealroom, Startup Genome, and Startup Radar madri+d, the Madrid region ranks among the most dynamic European regions in the deeptech sector, placing fourth in the number of scientific startups and sixth in high-growth companies.

Led by the Fundación para el Conocimiento madri+d, DeepTech Madrid has worked since its launch to bridge the gap between knowledge generation and its effective transfer to the market through technical, training, financial, and strategic support. In its second 2025 edition, the program, in addition to funding from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Universities, also receives co-financing from the Ministry of Digitalization. This new collaborative framework allows the program to expand its reach and increase direct financial support for projects and startups by more than 50%.
