The tenth edition of Decelera Menorca, the world’s first startup decelerator, has come to a close with overwhelmingly positive results for both entrepreneurs and investors. Held from May 19 to 28 in Menorca, the gathering brought together over 200 guests, including founders, investors, mentors, and leaders from the tech and impact ecosystem.
This year, 23 startups — selected from thousands of applications, representing just 1% of applicants — had the opportunity to pitch their projects to a panel of top-tier investors and participate in workshops, talks, and networking sessions designed to accelerate their businesses and foster sustainable growth.
Throughout the program, founders engaged in Decelera’s unique deceleration methodology, which flows in three stages: Breathe, Focus, Grow. This process enables entrepreneurs to disconnect from daily noise, reflect on their purpose and strategy, and ultimately shape and voice their ideas to share with the world — and with those who can help them grow.
One of the most special moments of this edition was the celebration of Decelera Menorca’s 10th anniversary, held on Saturday at the Club Marítimo de Mahón. The entire community came together to commemorate a decade of empowering purpose-driven startups. During the event, Juan de Antonio, Founder and CEO of Cabify, delivered an inspiring keynote that paid tribute to the entrepreneurial and impact-driven spirit at the heart of Decelera.
A major highlight this year was the confirmation that two of the participating startups — Anyformat and Valerdat — received direct investment from Decelera Ventures, the fund behind the program, reinforcing its commitment to backing purpose-driven entrepreneurs with high-impact potential.
Startups in the program were eligible for an initial investment of up to €300,000, with the possibility of receiving up to €2 million in follow-on funding, demonstrating Decelera Ventures’ strong support for tech initiatives focused on social and environmental impact.
In total, 13 international venture capital funds took part, including ABAC Nest, SHIP2B, Faraday Venture Partners, Wayra, Nauta Capital, and Sabadell Venture Capital.
These funds had the opportunity to engage directly with the founders and explore collaboration opportunities.
In addition to Anyformat and Valerdat, other participating startups included Skor, Vivra, Chemometric Brain, Lowerton, Stamp, Sheerme, Zell, IKI Health, Nidus Lab, Heuristik, Robopedics, Metly, Stand Up, Calliope AI, Quix, Sheldonn, Vixiees, Lingloop, Gaddex, Bytehide, and Kestrix — all selected for their potential to lead the transition toward a sustainable, impact-driven economy.
The event was made possible thanks to the support of global and local partners such as Across Legal, the Menorca Chamber of Commerce, San Miguel, Electrolit, La Menorquina, Iberia, Son Parc Hotels, and Menorca Tourism, all of whom help position Menorca as a key hub within the European startup ecosystem.
Decelera Ventures, the organizing fund, manages €38 million in capital to invest in technology startups with a focus on sustainability and impact. Since its founding in 2015, more than 15,000 startups from over 95 countries have applied to join the program. Its current portfolio includes 28 companies.
In the words of Marcos Martín, CEO of Decelera Ventures: “Ten years later, we remain committed to founders who want to build a better world — with purpose and with real impact. It’s not about slowing down for the sake of it, but about creating the right conditions for real connections to emerge and for founders to reflect deeply on their mission.”
With this success, Decelera Menorca strengthens its position as a unique space to grow, connect, and build the future of sustainable tech startups.
