Monbake, frozen bakery and pastries company acquired by CVC in 2024, has announced the acquisition of the Galician frozen dough company IPASA, which also manages the Sanbrandán brand, a strategic operation that strengthens Monbake's position in Galicia, but also consolidates its leadership in the sector at national level.

Founded in 1970 in A Coruña by the union of several small bakers, the company sells around 17,000 tonnes of bread, pastries and pies every year. It also manages a chain of 44 bakeries under the brand name ‘Sanbrandan’, with 42 establishments in A Coruña and two in Ferrol. This network of bakery-cafeterias will become part of the more than 230 outlets already operated by the Monbake Group.

The acquisition of IPASA includes significant investments to increase the production capacity of its plant in A Coruña, which will enhance future growth and improve our competitiveness in the market.

The company's CEO, Aurelio Antuña Rodríguez, has expressed his satisfaction with this acquisition, highlighting ‘the integration of IPASA under the Monbake umbrella reinforces our growth strategy and creates value for our customers, employees and shareholders’.
