Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira advised J.C. Flowers & Co., US investment fund specializing in financial services, on acquiring a majority shareholding in insurtech company Heymondo, one of the main players in the travel-insurance-platform market.
Closure of the transaction is expected during the first half of 2025, subject to the corresponding administrative and regulatory authorizations. J.C. Flowers’ entry will reinforce the capacities of Heymondo, which will continue to manage its current management team.
A team of lawyers led by Fernando Mínguez, together with Carlota Tojo and Julián Ruan—all from Corporate/Financial Services and Insurance—provided the advisory service.
Also participating in the transaction were lawyers from various of the firm's specialties: Ruth Duque and Marta Legaz (Corporate/Financial Services and Insurance); Rebeca Rodríguez, Sandra Rubio, Almudena Alcaraz, Alessandro Jones and Joan Crespo (Tax); Valentín García, Juan Gómez and Beatriz Olivera (Labor and Employment); Alejandro Negro, Pablo Tena and Micaela Izbicki (Intellectual Property, Industrial Property, Data Protection and Cybersecurity); Íñigo de Luisa and Alejandra Azinovic (Finance); and Enrique Carrera, Pablo López and Mireya Fernández (Competition Law and Foreign Investment and Subsidies).
