Crescenta, Spain’s first fully digital asset manager specialising in private equity fund investment, and Qualitas Energy, a leading global investment and management platform with a dual focus on both funding and developing renewable energy, energy transition and sustainable infrastructure, announced today an agreement under which Qualitas Energy Fund VI will be added as an underlying vehicle within Crescenta Private Equity Real Assets Top Performers I, FCR. This marks the first time Crescenta incorporates a fund from a Spanish manager into its strategies.
Qualitas Energy VI is the flagship equity vehicle of Qualitas Energy and is currently in fundraising. With a target size of €3.25 billion and a gross target return of over 15%, the Fund builds upon and expands the strategy of its predecessor, Qualitas Energy V. Its investment thesis encompasses assets across the full lifecycle, from development and operation to repowering, and is complemented by a private equity strategy focused on the consolidation of small- to mid-sized assets and platforms. Geographically, the Fund offers majority exposure to European markets, with additional diversification into other OECD countries such as Chile and the United States.
Ramiro Iglesias, CEO and Co-Founder of Crescenta, stated: “As part of our commitment to selecting top-tier funds, we have chosen to incorporate Qualitas Energy’s fund, which holds a strong track record of exceeding target size and returns. The more than €14 billion it has deployed towards the energy transition since 2006, alongside over 300 executed transactions, demonstrates the manager’s extensive expertise in a sector that is critical in today’s environment. This partnership enables us to further enhance the diversification of our fund. With this new underlying asset, investors in our Real Assets fund will be able to participate in the transformation of the energy system, gaining exposure to one of the most influential megatrends of the coming decade.”
Oscar Pérez, Managing Partner and CEO of Qualitas Energy, added: “Our collaboration with Crescenta allows us to continue advancing the democratisation of private equity investment, broadening our investor base through a digital platform that provides access to top-tier products. Crescenta stands out for its exceptionally rigorous selection of vehicles, and earning their trust is a strong endorsement of the quality and robustness of our funds.”
Earlier this year, Crescenta launched Real Assets Top Performers I, FCR, designed to provide retail investors with access to a global vehicle focused on infrastructure, energy and real estate. With a target size of €25 million, it aims to deliver an annual net return of between 12% and 15% (based on simulated historical returns*). The vehicle invests in specialised infrastructure, energy and real estate funds managed by leading international firms such as EQT and Carlyle.
*Target based on simulated historical net returns generated by previous funds following the same strategy as the selected underlying funds and managed by the same asset managers, under a conservative scenario. Reference period for the simulation: full duration of the previous funds (except those still in their investment period at the time of analysis, which are excluded). Source: internal analysis based on data provided by the managers of the underlying funds. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results.
