Columbus Venture Partners, through its management company Columbus Venture Partners S.G.E.I.C., S.A., announces the launch of the Columbus Life Sciences Fund V, a Venture Capital Fund (FCR) aimed at supporting innovative companies in the life sciences and healthcare sector.

The fund, promoted by Canopia de Aran Holding, S.L., has a target size of €150 million, extendable up to €200 million, and will have an initial duration of 10 years. The investment period will span the first 4 years (with a possible extension to 5), followed by a divestment period.

Investment Strategy

Columbus Life Sciences Fund V will primarily invest in European and U.S.-based technology companies in the fields of biotechnology, advanced therapies, medical devices, precision medicine, diagnostics, digital health, and artificial intelligence applied to healthcare. The fund will support both early-stage rounds (Series A and B) and later-stage growth rounds, with minimum investments of €2 million.

The goal is to drive disruptive projects with transformative potential in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries, fostering innovation and value creation within the ecosystem.

Governance and Transparency

The fund will be managed by Columbus Venture Partners, registered with the CNMV, and PricewaterhouseCoopers Auditores, S.L. will act as the auditor. The fund is committed to providing periodic information to its investors, ensuring transparency in management.

ESG Commitment

In line with European regulations (EU Regulation 2019/2088), the fund incorporates sustainability criteria in its investment process, analyzing environmental, social, and governance risks in portfolio companies.
