The SICC Innvierte of CDTI Innovación invests, together with BeAble Innvierte Kets Fund, F.C.R., in Next-Gen Leather for the development of new biomaterials as an animal cruelty-free alternative to leather.
Next-Gen Leather cultivates leather without breeding, sacrificing, or transporting animals. They achieve this by developing, through applied biotechnology, new biomaterials as an alternative to leather free from animal harm that also address urgent global challenges such as circular economy and local production.
The company’s goal is to create more efficient industrial manufacturing methods, both at small and large scale. To provide a material whose creation and processing are energy-efficient and location-independent. To carry out this mission, Next-Gen Leather relies on a solid scientific foundation. Their team consists of highly experienced microbiologists, chemists, and molecular biologists. Their life sciences research expertise is complemented by a strong commitment to sustainable production and extensive knowledge in materials science.
They have a patented biotechnological process to produce a next-generation material with characteristics very similar to animal leather, which is also eco-friendly, durable, and versatile. This product enables the creation of materials with specific properties tailored to various industries and applications.
CDTI Innovación, through Innvierte, has just closed an investment deal in this company with BEABLE INNVIERTE KETS FUND, F.C.R., contributing €948,000.

Innvierte
