El Caserío de Tafalla, a leading company in quality candy production, has recently received a participatory loan of €350,000 from its partner organizations: the public company of the Government of Navarra, Sodena, and the investment vehicle of the renowned Navarrese entrepreneur in the agri-food sector, Santiago Sala. This operation aims to strengthen the factory’s business plan and further consolidate its growth in the coming years.
With a workforce of 27 people (15 of them women), the Navarrese company has already recovered its pre-pandemic revenue levels and expects to achieve growth of around 15% this year, further consolidating its position in both the national and international markets.
Through this financial and operational boost, El Caserío de Tafalla aims to enhance ‘La Cafetera’ (1893) and relaunch ‘Dos Cafeteras’ (1886). These two century-old brands have shaped the history and memories of several generations, and the factory seeks to return to the market a product closely linked to local tradition.
Additionally, with this new step forward, the company is also launching a new line of sugar-free candies, designed for consumers seeking healthier products that are more environmentally friendly.
“This support confirms the strength of the project and the confidence in our ability to innovate without losing the artisanal essence that defines us. The recovery of ‘La Cafetera’ has demonstrated the power of brands with history, and now we want to do the same with ‘Dos Cafeteras.’ It is a shared heritage with Navarra and all our consumers,” said Ramón San Marón, General Director of El Caserío de Tafalla.
Sodena and Santiago Sala both emphasize the significant importance of supporting companies like this, describing it as “a family business with the ability to revitalize historic brands and create new growth opportunities, reflecting a model that combines tradition, innovation, and quality.” They also state that with this support, they aim to “contribute to consolidating a project that generates employment, added value, and serves as a benchmark in its sector.”
Since the entry of both partner organizations in 2023, El Caserío de Tafalla has been working on a new commercial strategy, as well as improving and digitizing production processes and addressing sustainability aspects. In fact, regarding sustainability, the company is developing a waste reduction plan to remain committed to environmental care.
THE CANDY FACTORY WITH SOUL
Founded in 1964, El Caserío de Tafalla has over 60 years of history and is present in more than a dozen countries across four continents. Since 2007, it has operated from the La Nava industrial park in Tafalla, producing up to 900,000 kilos annually of “candies with soul.” This is the guiding principle in the production of its four brands (Caramelos El Caserío, Las Cafeteras, BE4, and Nano), which embody quality, tradition, and innovation.
Today, recognized for its authenticity and quality, the company has successfully adapted to new market demands while maintaining its artisanal essence. Its candies are part of the memories of several generations and now look to the future with new projects that strengthen its legacy.
