Buenavista Equity Partners (“Buenavista”), a private equity firm specialized in the lower/mid-market segment in Spain, has increased its position in Xoople to a total of €10.5 million following its participation in a €34 million funding round led by the Centre for the Development of Technology and Innovation (CDTI) and AXIS, the venture capital arm wholly owned by Spain’s Official Credit Institute (ICO). The round was announced on 14 May and closed on 18 June. Following this transaction, the company has secured a total of €115 million in funding from a combination of public and private, national and international investors.
Buenavista first backed Xoople in 2021 through its Buenavista Ventures strategy, becoming the company’s first private investor. It now reinforces that commitment by increasing its stake through the Buenavista Infrastructure funds as well.
Buenavista Ventures currently has a portfolio of 19 investee companies, the most recent being Onmiscope, acquired earlier in 2025 — a track record that positions the firm as one of the most active managers in the segment.
Founded in Spain and with global ambitions, Xoople is the world’s first company specifically created to deliver geospatial artificial intelligence (Earth Intelligence) services. The company is developing the next generation of technologies for the collection and analysis of terrestrial data, enabling a systematic understanding of physical changes on the Earth’s surface.
Xoople has co-developed its transformative technology alongside clients from multiple sectors and regions, aiming to meet the real needs of both businesses and citizens. Its cutting-edge system will generate a continuous stream of Earth data optimized to be processed by powerful AI. Combined with geospatial reasoning and business intelligence technologies, it will allow pattern recognition, change detection, and predictive analysis of our planet.
Xoople is also working on a revolutionary satellite constellation to fully unlock the potential of so-called Earth Artificial Intelligence (EarthAI). The company will provide global, reliable, consistent, and AI-ready data sets to help solve real-world problems on a large scale. It will offer critical insights on Earth surface changes, empowering individuals, organizations, and communities to make faster, better-informed, and safer decisions.
Francisco Marín, Senior Advisor and Partner at Buenavista Ventures, and a member of Xoople’s Board of Directors, stated:
“Xoople is a strategic partner of Microsoft in its Planetary Computing initiative, driving an integrated Earth Intelligence system that combines a new satellite constellation with the Microsoft Planetary Computer Pro platform. This alliance enables large-scale processing and exploitation of geospatial data, integrating artificial intelligence to deliver actionable insights in key sectors.”
“Public-private collaboration is essential to the development of technological projects in our country and to positioning ourselves at the forefront of innovation. This project is a prime example of how public commitment and business vision can combine to create global leaders in artificial intelligence, Earth observation, and advanced computing. CDTI and AXIS are trusted partners in this successful experience in strategic technology fields. We are very pleased to strengthen our position and support Xoople in this new phase, convinced that their proposal has a highly promising future.”
