The Business Factory Aero (BFAero), the aerospace accelerator promoted by the Regional Ministry of Economy and Industry, has supported 49 business projects since 2019, 15 of which are new startups. BFAero has demonstrated its ability to attract entrepreneurial talent from other regions, as some of these companies relocated to Galicia from Catalonia, the Valencian Community, Madrid and Castile and León, as well as from other countries such as Norway, Uruguay and Portugal.

Overall, the companies have generated more than 310 skilled jobs, an accumulated turnover of €28.6 million, and investments totalling €16 million. The economic impact generated by the accelerated companies reflects Galicia’s ability to transform innovative projects into business activity with a broad territorial footprint.

The accelerator’s impact was presented during the licensing ceremony of the sixth edition and the launch of the seventh edition, held at the facilities of Kreios Space, a company recently established in the Porto do Molle industrial park (Nigrán). The event was attended by the Regional Minister of Economy and Industry, María Jesús Lorenzana, who had the opportunity to learn first-hand about the company’s projects.

Industrial footprint across Galicia

The industrial footprint of BFAero in Galicia is spread across the entire region. Among the supported projects are cases such as Kreios Space and Lupeon in Nigrán; Aguia Analítica in Oleiros; Aeromedia and ITG Drone Solutions in A Coruña; Arzeos Aircraft in Silleda; Luxit in Ourense; and Vig-Sec Drone in Lugo.

In addition, projects from the fifth and sixth editions have attracted more than €14 million in public and private funding. Notably, nearly 70% of these resources come from private investment funds, highlighting market confidence in the technological capabilities and growth potential of companies emerging from the programme.

A public-private collaborative ecosystem

After six editions, BFAero has become one of the main support instruments for technological entrepreneurship and the development of the aerospace industry in Spain. The programme collaborates with more than 55 entities, including major industry players (Airbus, Avincis and Telespazio), technology centres, Galician universities, and companies across the value chain.

The accelerator is part of the Strategic Initiative for Security, Defence and Aerospace 2025–2030, promoted by the Regional Ministry of Economy and Industry, which has a public budget of €183 million and an estimated capacity to mobilise nearly €900 million through public-private collaboration
