Beka has advised Banca March on the acquisition of two new hotels to expand the strategic alliance with Meliá Hotels International. These are two emblematic assets in Mallorca and Tenerife: Hoteles Sol Tenerife and Innside Palma Bosque, which will become part of the new company, 70% owned by Banca March and 30% by Meliá Hotels International.
The operation, valued at more than 140 million euros, includes the purchase of shares that until now were in the hands of other partners of the hotel company. In addition, an additional investment of approximately 50 million euros is envisaged for the repositioning and improvement of both establishments, with the aim of enhancing their quality, profitability and attractiveness for customers and investors.
With this transaction, Banca March and Meliá Hotels International consolidate the collaboration initiated in 2023, which already includes three other hotels in Fuerteventura and Ibiza. This new acquisition is part of Banca March's co-investment strategy, a model that allows its customers to participate in the same investment opportunities as the bank.
‘It is an honour for Beka that Banca March's co-investment team can count on our support in this type of operation. This team is a pioneer in Spain in this type of co-investment product. The Banca March-Meliá tandem is very attractive for attracting capital from wealth banking clients who see, on the one hand, that Banca March brings them very well structured operations, co-investing with them and sharing the risk, and on the other hand, that the hotels are operated by one of the most internationally recognised hotel groups with the best management capabilities, such as Meliá’, says Pablo Pérez Alba, Director of Beka's M&A team.
The assets included in the transaction are two outstanding references in the hotel sector:
Sol Tenerife, located on the seafront of Las Americas beach, has 522 rooms and more than 10,000 m² of gardens and common areas. It will undergo a comprehensive renovation planned for 2026-2027, which will culminate in its rebranding under the Meliá brand.
Innside Palma Bosque, in Palma de Mallorca, is an essential hotel in the bleisure segment (business + leisure). With 262 rooms and a renowned gastronomic offer, it is strategically located between the Paseo Marítimo and the Bellver Forest. It will undergo renovations during the winter of 2025-2026 to consolidate its position as one of the city's leading hotels.
This operation reinforces Beka's commitment to accompany its clients in transactions of high strategic value and demonstrates its experience in advising on complex operations in key sectors of the real economy such as tourism.
