BDO Spain has advised Terminal Portuaria Tartessos, S.A. (TPT) and its shareholders, Moeve and Exolum, as Financial Model Advisor and Reviewer on the financial structuring and financial close of the Muelle Sur project, a new port terminal at the Port of Huelva designed for vessel berthing, as well as the storage and distribution of liquid energy bulk products and second-generation biofuels.
The project has secured €105 million in project finance funding, backed by BBVA and Kutxabank, marking the successful financial close of a project whose construction is already at an advanced stage.
BDO has been advising Terminal Portuaria Tartessos and its shareholders since 2025, providing specialist support on the design and review of the project's financial model. The development represents a key component of the shareholders' clean energy strategy and the expansion of sustainable logistics infrastructure in southern Spain.
The new terminal will play a strategic role in the handling, storage, distribution and export of fuels and advanced biofuels, strengthening the logistics capabilities of the Port of Huelva while supporting the energy transition. The infrastructure also has a strong international focus, serving as a gateway for the management and export of sustainable fuels to global markets.
Through this transaction, BDO further strengthens its position as a financial advisor on sustainable infrastructure and structured finance projects, supporting investments that accelerate decarbonisation and the development of next-generation energy infrastructure in Spain.
