ARPA Abogados Consultores has advised Sodena on its participation in a €450,000 investment round in Ubyko, a Navarre-based company specializing in robotic urban storage solutions. The aim of the transaction is to strengthen the company’s position in order to consolidate its commercial strategy, enhance its technological development, and accelerate the deployment of its first solutions in real-world settings.

Ubyko designs and assembles smart storage systems that transform urban spaces into autonomous logistics microhubs, connected to 24/7 pickup points. As the company explains in a statement, "its technology enables a significant boost in last-mile delivery efficiency, reduces city traffic and emissions, and improves access to products and services."

In the words of Ubyko co-founders Diego Zúñiga and Hugo Fernández: “This agreement comes at a key moment. It strengthens our rollout strategy, enhances our technology offering, and brings us closer to major clients. Having these partners on board gives us the confidence and resources to approach this stage with ambition and soundness, and to double our team in the coming months.”

The operation also has the support of the Guindulain family, owners of Jofemar Corporación, adding strong technical and industrial backing to the project thanks to the group’s expertise in advanced manufacturing, automation, and international distribution.

Ubyko was one of the first SMEs to be recognized by ENISA as an innovative company and also receives support from the CDTI through the NEOTEC program, aimed at promoting R&D in technology-based companies. With this support, Ubyko has developed computer vision and robotics solutions applied to urban logistics.

It provides financial support, facilitates business location, offers access to its network of contacts, and coordinates the design and implementation of the region’s Smart Specialisation Strategy for Sustainability. Its goal is to contribute to regional development and the creation of high-quality jobs.

Iñaki Larraya, Managing Director of Sodena, stated: “We are pleased to be part of this co-investment alongside the Guindulain family, who bring extensive industry experience. We are fortunate to share their business vision, and we are confident their involvement will add significant value to a technology-driven project led by a strong entrepreneurial team and will support the creation of highly skilled jobs.”
