Aistech Space, a Spanish space technology company dedicated to the detection, tracking, and monitoring of temperature changes on Earth, which provides space data, information, and solutions focused on controlling resources, assets, critical infrastructures, and areas of strategic interest by enabling analysis capabilities and decision-making processes, has been declared a strategic company by the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI), dependent on the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. This designation represents important recognition and support for Aistech’s technology, while also backing the company’s growth and technological development, reinforcing its position as a key player in the space sector in Spain and Europe.
This institutional support is part of the Innvierte initiative, aimed at promoting investment in innovative, high-potential companies. Under this designation, CDTI has committed to co-investing up to €22.5 million alongside private investors in the Series B funding round planned to close this year. To date, the company has already raised €8.5 million, contributed by Global Portfolio Investment (€8 million) and Pelliga Family Office (€0.5 million).
“This recognition is a milestone that validates our vision and technological approach, reinforcing the sector’s and market’s confidence in our technical capabilities, vision, and business model. It enables us to accelerate the deployment of our satellite constellation and consolidate our position in the global space observation market,” said Carles Franquesa, co-founder and CEO of Aistech Space.
Meanwhile, Guillermo Valenzuela, co-founder and CEO, noted, “This distinction from CDTI is a fundamental endorsement that strengthens our capacity to innovate and grow. It drives us to continue leading the development of advanced space technologies that help position Spain as a benchmark in the European space sector.”
A distinctive recognition
With this designation, Aistech Space joins a select group of innovative Spanish companies excelling in key sectors such as aerospace, defense, artificial intelligence, and biotechnology.
Innvierte, the venture capital initiative managed by CDTI Innovación, has recently closed various co-investment deals aimed at companies developing advanced technologies in strategic areas such as sustainable mobility, space propulsion, and artificial intelligence. The inclusion of Aistech Space in this network reinforces CDTI’s commitment to strengthening the national technological ecosystem in the aerospace sector.
