The international law firm Addleshaw Goddard has advised Mapfre Vida on the acquisition of the Ombú building, located in the Méndez Álvaro district of Madrid and currently leased to the technology company EA Sports.

The property, which has a total floor area of 14,000 square metres and 240 parking spaces, including 12,000 square metres of landscaped green areas integrated into its design, has undergone a comprehensive refurbishment carried out by the prestigious architecture firms Foster + Partners and Ortiz.León. As a result, it has become a benchmark for sustainability and energy efficiency in the Spanish real estate market. Originally constructed between 1903 and 1909, the building is a historic landmark that has evolved to meet modern needs, helping to consolidate the Méndez Álvaro area as one of the city’s most attractive hubs.

With this acquisition, Mapfre strengthens its diversification and sustainability strategy, investing in prime assets in strategic locations.

The Addleshaw Goddard team advising on the transaction was led by real estate partner José Antonio Calleja, with the support of counsel Candela Escribano and associate María Calderón.
