Spanish cybersecurity firm 8Layers has closed a €1.5 million capital increase, in a round led by venture capital fund JME Ventures. The operation also saw participation from Lanai Ventures, Draper B1, and Secways.
8Layers specializes in digital identity protection, one of the most vulnerable assets within any organization and a primary target of today’s cyberattacks. Its technology secures access to critical systems against intrusions, impersonations, and unauthorized access, at a time when credential-based attacks have surged significantly across Europe.
The company was founded by Daniel García Morán, Pedro Palao, Iago Salgado, and Pablo Carretero — professionals with over 20 years of experience in scalable systems development and cybersecurity. Notably, Pedro, Pablo, and Daniel were part of the founding team of Devo, one of the few deeptech unicorns to emerge from Spain.
With this new capital injection, 8Layers will accelerate the development of its technology platform and expand its presence in the European market, aiming to become a key player in secure digital transformation for enterprises.
