Zoetis has invested close to €100 million to build and adapt production facilities at its plant in Vall de Bianya (Olot, La Garrotxa). With this investment, the company has created around fifteen jobs, with plans to expand the workforce by up to 100 new employees over the next four years.
For the project to expand its operations in La Garrotxa, Zoetis has received support from ACCIÓ, the agency that promotes business growth within the Generalitat of Catalunya, through €640,000 from the high-impact business projects grant programme.
The project, which began in 2023 with construction works and the acquisition of equipment, is currently in its final phase of execution. The new production spaces will be added to the nearly 25,000 square metres already built at the plant, which forms part of a total site area of 76,400 square metres.
Zoetis, which employs around 350 people at its Vall de Bianya facility, traces its origins back to the founding of Laboratorios Sobrino in 1955 and its subsequent acquisition by the pharmaceutical group Pfizer. In 2013, the group’s animal health division became an independent company under the Zoetis brand.
Zoetis Group, a global leader in animal health and a Fortune 500 company, operates in more than 100 countries, employs over 13,800 people and generated revenues of $9.3 billion in 2024
