The ICF, the public promotional bank of Catalonia, has financed the pharmaceutical company Rubió with 4 million euros through its ICF Eurocrèdit product.

With this loan, the ICF supports the deployment of Rubió's growth plan, which will double its production capacity and quality control area, strengthen the digitization of operations, enable new spaces for R+D teams and generate up to 70 new jobs in the region.

The operations approved through the ICF Eurocrèdit line have preferential conditions thanks to the co-financing of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union, which aims to invest in growth and employment.

Rubió is a pharmaceutical company founded in 1968 by brothers Salvador and Pelayo Rubió, both pharmacists by profession, with the aim of marketing medicines that at that time were not available in the country because they treated low-prevalence diseases.

In this sense, Rubió was a pioneer in the introduction in Spain of important drugs with high added value that have led to a significant improvement in people's survival and quality of life. Rubió has its production headquarters in a 2,900 m² plant in Castellbisbal that produces more than 10 million units of finished product per year.
