Pragmatech IA Solutions, an Asturias-based startup specialising in the design and development of artificial intelligence–based solutions for the healthcare sector, has closed a new financing round of €650,000. The transaction aims to drive the commercial rollout of iAST®, its antibiotic prescribing decision-support software, following the recent achievement of CE marking, thereby accelerating its adoption by hospitals and healthcare professionals.
The round was led by Valencia-based venture capital firm First Drop VC, which invested €300,000. It also included the participation of Asturias-based Urriellu Ventures, which contributed €175,000, as well as continued support from several existing investors. The transaction is complemented by a €180,000 loan from ENISA and the conversion into equity of €162,500 from the previous funding round.
The process was advised by law firm AV Law, which supported the company throughout the transaction.
The funds raised will be mainly allocated to strengthening the commercial strategy of iAST®, a tool that supports clinical decision-making in antibiotic prescribing and aims to promote more efficient and safer use of these treatments in hospital settings.
“With this round, we are consolidating our ability to bring iAST to the hospitals and healthcare professionals who need it most. The support of investors such as First Drop and Urriellu Ventures reinforces confidence in our technology and in the positive impact it is having on clinical practice,” said Javier Fernández, co-CEO of Pragmatech.
With this transaction, Pragmatech strengthens its position as one of the leading startups in the field of artificial intelligence applied to healthcare, amid growing demand for technological solutions that improve efficiency and quality of care.
