King & Wood Mallesons has advised Alantra on the launch of N-Sun Energy, its new investment platform for solar PV projects in Southern Europe. The project is initially backed by Swiss infrastructure asset manager Reichmuth and French asset manager Amundi Energy Transition as key investors, who have already committed €265 million.

The creation of N-Sun Energy is part of the long-term collaboration agreement between Alantra and Solarig, a Spanish company focused on the development, construction and operation of solar plants, under which the latter will contribute to the project a portfolio of 50 solar plants with a capacity of 1.9 GW located in Spain and Italy. The solar PV projects will reach Ready-to-Build status progressively over the next 18 months and will ultimately be fully operational by the end of 2025. The total value of the portfolio amounts to €1.7 billion.

The team of KWM lawyers who have participated in this project has been led by partners Roberto Pomares (Corporate) and Isabel Rodríguez (Funds). Other key members of the teams have been counsel Fernando Jiménez (Tax), senior associate Gonzalo Fernández (Corporate), and associates Enrique Torné (Funds), Enrique Murillo (Corporate) and Laura Varela (Corporate).
