King & Wood Mallesons ("KWM") has advised the French private equity company Capza on the acquisition of a majority stake in Grupo La Finca, one of the leading companies in the Spanish meat sector.
The multidisciplinary team of lawyers that has advised Capza in this transaction has been coordinated by Corporate partner Roberto Pomares and associates Gonzalo Fernández and Laura Moreira. Other professionals who have participated are counsel Fernando Jiménez (Tax) and the associates Sandra de Andrés (Employment), Candela Escribano (Real Estate) and Natalia Rodríguez (Corporate).
Following Capza’s investment, La Finca will promote new business lines and diversify its product range, strengthening its presence in the "ready to eat" segment.
Grupo La Finca is one of the main suppliers for, among others, Five Guys, Goiko Grill, TGB and the chef Dani García’s and Grupo La Máquina’s restaurants.
Capza (formerly Capzanine) is a European private investment manager with €6.1 billion of assets and focused on small and mid-cap companies. Since its entry into Spain in 2016 Capza has become one of the most active firms in the national private equity market.
Previously, KWM advised Capza on its investments in Clínicas Dorsia, IMF International Business School, Aercal and on its investment and subsequent divestment of Ivnosys.
