Kenta Capital, the debt advisory firm specialising in alternative financing solutions, has acted as financial advisor to Greenalia on the structuring and closing of the €145 million project finance refinancing of its Curtis-Teixeiro biomass power plant in A Coruña, Spain.
Greenalia is a Spanish renewable energy group focused on the development, construction and operation of renewable energy assets. In this transaction, the financing was fully underwritten by Natixis and will optimise the capital structure of one of Spain's leading biomass assets.
The Curtis-Teixeiro plant, which has been operational since 2020, generated 375 GWh during fiscal year 2025, equivalent to 7,500 net export hours, reinforcing its position as one of the benchmark biomass facilities in the Spanish market.
Kenta Capital advised Greenalia throughout the transaction, providing financial advisory services on the structuring of the refinancing as well as support during the execution and successful closing of the financing.
Álvaro Bergasa, CEO and Co-founder of Kenta Capital, commented: "We are delighted to have supported Greenalia in this strategic transaction involving one of the most significant biomass assets in the Spanish market. The deal also highlights the added value of our distribution platform, which enables us to attract and coordinate multiple financial institutions, ensuring efficient execution and access to diversified sources of financing."
The transaction further strengthens Kenta Capital's track record in the energy and infrastructure sectors, where the firm continues to expand its activity and leverage its extensive expertise in structuring financing solutions tailored to the specific needs of each project.
Legal counsel for the transaction was provided by Cuatrecasas for Greenalia, Watson Farley & Williams for the lending institutions, and G-Advisory acted as technical advisor.
