COFIDES has granted a co-investment loan of €1,050,000 to Genesal Energy for the acquisition of generator sets, with the aim of renewing and expanding its rental fleet in Peru, thereby strengthening a key business line for the company.

The financing, provided through the Small and Medium Enterprise Investment Operations Fund (FONPYME) and COFIDES’ own resources, has enabled the addition of 55 lightly used units and 11 new units, all manufactured by Genesal in Spain and sold to its Peruvian subsidiary at market prices.

The total investment of the operation amounts to €1.5 million, reinforcing Genesal’s presence in a strategic market and confirming its commitment to reliable, high-quality energy solutions for key sectors of the Peruvian economy.

According to Miguel Ángel Ladero, Corporate Director of COFIDES’ Investment Department, “Supporting the growth and consolidation of Spanish SMEs is a priority for COFIDES. This operation strengthens Genesal’s position in a strategic market and contributes to the industrial development of Peru by providing essential energy solutions.”

For Julio Arca, CEO of Genesal Energy, “Peru is a strategic market for Genesal and a key driver within our internationalization strategy. This operation allows us to further strengthen the GENESAL brand in the country, modernize our rental fleet, and continue offering reliable, efficient energy solutions tailored to the needs of a rapidly expanding market. Having the backing of COFIDES, a leading Spanish public entity, is a strong vote of confidence in our industrial project and reinforces our commitment to sustainable, long-term growth in Latin America.”
