The Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (MICIU) has joined the CRB Digital Health III fund as an institutional investor, committing €10 million through the CDTI Innvierte programme.
CRB Digital Health III, F.C.R.E. is the first European fund fully dedicated to digital health based in Spain. It is managed by CRB Health Tech, S.G.E.I.C., S.A. (with offices in Madrid and Barcelona) and focuses on investing in companies with a proven business model and clear growth potential. Its strategy is oriented towards the development of disruptive technologies applied to prevention, diagnosis and treatment of patients, as well as platforms that contribute to improving the efficiency and sustainability of the healthcare system.
This addition significantly strengthens the fund’s investor base and reinforces institutional support for a strategy focused on developing innovative solutions in the digital health space.
With this transaction, MICIU joins a strong group of institutional investors already present in the fund, including the Barcelona City Council (Ajuntament de Barcelona), the Catalan Institute of Finance (ICF), and SETT Spain, further reinforcing a shared commitment to transforming the healthcare system through innovation, technology, and long-term capital.
CRB Digital Health has highlighted the key role of CDTI Innvierte as a driving force within Spain’s innovation ecosystem, as well as its contribution to strengthening an environment capable of scaling the next generation of healthcare solutions.
The shared objective of the investors is to consolidate Spain as a leading digital health hub in Southern Europe, promoting the development of technologies that improve efficiency, quality of care, and the sustainability of the healthcare system.
