The Cantabrian natural and sustainable cosmetics brand Banbu has received financial backing from Eoniq.fund, which has invested €79,772 to support the evolution of its zero-waste model and accelerate its expansion in the eco-friendly market. This collaboration will enable the company to develop new personal hygiene solutions without waste, strengthen its distribution channels, and launch innovative reusable and compostable formats.

Since its founding in 2021 by Verónica Díez and Rodrigo Folgueira, Banbu has promoted 100% natural cosmetics with COSMOS certification, focusing on eco-friendly ingredients and healthy formulas—free of endocrine disruptors and toxic substances—with compostable or reusable packaging. The brand offers a range of over 80 products, including solid shampoos, powdered toothpastes, soaps, cream deodorants, and solid perfumes, all with certified eco-friendly packaging (recycled paper, biodegradable ink) and recognized by the Organics Clean Awards and EmprendeXXI 2023.

Banbu has also established a physical presence in stores in Barcelona, Bilbao, and San Sebastián, strengthening its position as one of Spain’s leading zero-waste cosmetics brands.

With this financing, Banbu aims to:

  • Launch new 100% compostable refill formats.
  • Accelerate distribution in eco-friendly physical stores and through e-commerce.
  • Strengthen R&D focused on effective, sustainable formulas with a lower environmental footprint.

For Eoniq.fund, this investment reinforces its strategy of supporting Spanish startups with environmental impact and international potential, beyond the traditional hubs of Madrid and Barcelona.

Banbu is currently opening its third investment round, expected to be in the range of €550K–€750K, supported by current investors with follow-on participation. This represents a major opportunity for new investors to access a startup with significant growth and impact potential.
