Auren, through its legal division Auren Legal, has advised the Spanish Society for Technological Transformation (SETT), an entity under the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Administration, on the legal structuring of its strategic €719 million investment in the public-private consortium that will drive the development of an advanced Artificial Intelligence Gigafactory in Spain.
The transaction provides for SETT to become a shareholder in the project company alongside Telefónica, ACS Group, Santander, Multiverse Computing and INCASÒL (Catalan Land Institute), as part of Spain's bid for the European InvestAI initiative.
The project aims to provide Spain and Europe with a strategic advanced computing infrastructure for the training and development of next-generation artificial intelligence models. The initiative is intended to strengthen Europe's technological sovereignty, enhance its industrial and scientific capabilities, and improve the continent's global competitiveness in one of today's most strategic technological fields.
The transaction was led by Auren Legal's Corporate and M&A team, headed by partners Ramón Ruiz de la Torre and Héctor Pascual, with support from Diego Zubirán. The firm also drew on the expertise of its Media & Tech team, led by partner Pilar Sánchez-Bleda.
This landmark transaction further strengthens Auren's position as a leading legal adviser on high-impact projects involving artificial intelligence, technological innovation, and the development of critical digital infrastructure.
By advising on this strategic investment, Auren reinforces its expertise in supporting transformative public-private partnership projects that contribute to Spain's digital transformation and the European Union's technological autonomy.
