Alantra acted as sell-side advisor to Orphelia Pharma, a French pharmaceutical company focused on rare and serious pediatric diseases in neurology and oncology, in its sale to Orphalan, a global pharmaceutical company specializing in the development and commercialization of treatments for rare diseases.

Orphalan, founded in 2011, has developed a global footprint across 38 authorized markets and is committed to improving access to treatments for rare diseases. This acquisition strengthens its position as a European leader and expands its therapeutic portfolio to include additional pediatric and rare-disease assets.

Rusty Ray, Managing Partner at Alantra, said: “We’re pleased to have advised Orphelia Pharma on this strategic combination. The transaction brings together two complementary rare-disease platforms and creates a stronger foundation to scale pediatric therapies and expand patient access globally.”

This cross-border deal reinforces Alantra’s activity in the Healthcare sector, with recent transactions including advising Bansk Group on its acquisition of BYOMA, the sale of Venture Life Group’s CDMO operations to BioDue, and the sale of CardioDiagnostics Technologies to CardioOne.
