Santander Corporate & Investment Banking has acted as Global Coordinator, Mandated Lead Arranger and Bookrunner in an export credit agency (ECA)-backed financing covered by Bpifrance Assurance Export for MSC Cruises, supporting the construction of two new liquefied natural gas (LNG)-powered vessels by French shipbuilder Chantiers de l'Atlantique.

The vessels, World Class 7 and World Class 8, are scheduled for delivery in 2030 and 2031 respectively, and will rank among the most energy-efficient ships in the industry. They will incorporate advanced technologies and innovative features designed to optimise energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.

This transaction further strengthens Santander’s leading position in Global Export Finance and reinforces its franchise in a highly strategic sector.

The bank congratulates MSC Cruises and Chantiers de l'Atlantique on their long-standing relationship and the completion of this milestone transaction.
