Qualitas Energy, a leading global investment and management platform with a dual focus on both funding and developing renewable energy, energy transition, and sustainable infrastructure, announced today that it has successfully secured tender awards for two wind energy repowering projects in Germany. The combined capacity of the awarded projects exceeds 43 MW.

The first project is located in Sassenberg-Gröblingen, in the Warendorf district of North Rhine-Westphalia, where four wind turbines, each with a rated capacity of 5.56 MW, will be deployed. This site benefits from existing infrastructure and favourable wind conditions, making it well-suited for repowering.

The second project is situated in Ingstetten, in the Alb-Donau region of Baden-Württemberg, where three high-performance wind turbines, each with a rated capacity of 7.2 MW, will be installed. This initiative represents the first phase of a larger project comprising a total of six wind turbines, which are expected to take part in the next auction round.

These tender awards come at a pivotal moment for Germany’s wind energy sector. The oversubscription of the August tender round reflects the industry’s readiness to scale up and contribute meaningfully to the country’s ambitious climate and energy targets.

Johannes Overbeck, Co-CEO of Qualitas Energy Deutschland GmbH, said: “The successful tender awards for our repowering projects underscore our team’s implementation strength and our commitment to the energy transition. By deploying state-of-the-art technology, we are increasing the efficiency and contribution of our wind farms to renewable power generation. This enables us to make an active contribution to building an efficient and sustainable energy system in Germany.”

With a robust portfolio of more than 100 wind energy projects and a late-stage development pipeline of 4 GW in Germany, Qualitas Energy is well-positioned to further expand its footprint through strategic acquisitions and continued investment in high-potential renewable energy assets.
