On October 2nd, the first edition of the Foro Capital Pymes and MONDRAGON event took place at the Bilbao Stock Exchange. It was promoted by the MONDRAGON Ventures team in collaboration with Foro Capital Pymes, a pioneering platform and leading reference for SMEs seeking access to financing from specialized investors as an alternative to traditional banking. Foro Capital Pymes has already organized over 100 investment forums in the past 10 years.

The forum, focused exclusively on industrial companies, attracted the interest of around 130 professionals, including executives from the MONDRAGON Corporation and its cooperatives, as well as managers from venture capital funds, industrial family offices, corporate banking, and regional funds, who participated both online and in person.

“In recent years, we have focused on investments in early-stage startups. Now, we want to broaden the scope of our capital investments and the maturity level of the projects, complementing it with scaleups and established SMEs, while maintaining our mission to position ourselves as a corporation that seeks long-term partners and is able to deploy our industrial, market, and financial capabilities,” emphasized Joseba Sagastigordia, Director of MONDRAGON Ventures.

With the goal of exploring business diversification for the cooperatives and fostering strategic networking with other key players in the ecosystem, ten projects were presented during the investment forum in areas such as smart cities, sustainable mobility, industrial tech, renewable energy, and health and wellness. Together, these businesses generated €10 million in revenue in 2024 and forecast €18 million in sales for 2025, presenting ten funding rounds worth a total of €50 million.
