KPMG in Spain is strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem with the launch of KPMG Startup, a program designed to support startups at every stage of their development. Through a specialised team with deep sector knowledge, the firm is committed to innovation, talent, and collaboration, offering tailored solutions for each phase of a startup’s lifecycle.

With KPMG Startup Connect, the firm reinforces its commitment to talent and business innovation by providing specialised audit, consulting, legal advisory and deal advisory services to founders and startups, as well as to funds, family offices, platforms and accelerators.

The program, which will be driven from Catalonia—one of Europe’s key engines of entrepreneurship—will be led by Carlos Ibáñez, Audit Partner at KPMG in Spain, who will coordinate its roll-out together with Marta Echarri, who joins as an external advisor and serves as a bridge to the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Echarri, a leading figure in the fintech and digital transformation space, brings a strong track record in digital banking and financial technology, with experience at firms such as JP Morgan, N26 and Western Union. She is currently in the pre-launch phase of her own startup, Kiri, focused on promoting financial education.

Ibáñez explains: “Spain has established itself as one of the most dynamic and fast-growing hubs in Europe within the global startup ecosystem, with key talent and innovation driving its development. With KPMG Startup Connect and the support of Marta Echarri, we want to offer founders genuine support, tailored to the pace and challenges entrepreneurs face.”

Marta Echarri highlights: “The entrepreneurial ecosystem in Spain is experiencing a unique moment, marked by the creativity and ambition of its founders. Initiatives that connect startups with specialised knowledge are essential to accelerate their growth, and strengthening innovation and collaboration among different market players is key to generating real impact on the economy and society.”

This new program is part of the Markets division, led by Fernando Cuñado, further reinforcing its strategic focus and direct alignment with the real needs of the business landscape.
