Charterhouse Capital Partners LLP (“Charterhouse”),one of the longest established private equity firms operating in Europe, today announces that it has entered into an agreement to invest in Kids&Us (the “Company”), the leading English teaching provider for children in Spain. Charterhouse will acquire a majority stake in Kids&Us, partnering with its founders and Corpfin Capital (“Corpfin”) who are both reinvesting in the Company as part of the transaction.

Founded in 2003 and headquartered in Spain, Kids&Us provides English language teaching to over 170,000 students via more than 550 centres located mainly in Spain, Italy, Belgium, France, Mexico and Japan. Kids&Us offers classes for children and teenagers aged 1 to 18 years old, with a hybrid learning methodology that combines classroom-based teaching and digital education.

The partnership will support Kids&Us in its ambition to become a global leader in English language teaching, through continued international expansion in European markets and across other regions globally. The investment will also help to consolidate Kids&Us’ leadership position in Spain and aid the development of additional supplementary digital content to enhance the Company’s offering to students.

The transaction is Charterhouse’s fifth acquisition in the education sector in two years, following previous investments in GES-Eductive Group, a leading private higher education platform, and Novetude Santé, a specialist provider of higher education to healthcare professionals and its add-on transactions of ICOM and MFO in Italy and France, respectively.

Ana Rojo, Chief Executive Officer of Kids&Us, said:

“We are excited to be partnering with Charterhouse to deliver the next chapter of growth at Kids&US. Over recent years we have established a strong platform for a new phase of expansion and are convinced that Charterhouse is the right partner to guide our development, supporting the implementation of our ambitious growth strategy, whilst preserving the essence of Kids&Us.”

Pierre de Sarrau, Partner at Charterhouse, commented:

“We are delighted to be investing in Kids&Us. We look forward to working closely with the Company’s talented team to share our extensive expertise in international expansion and our experience in scaling education businesses.”

Fernando Trueba, Managing Partner at Corpfin, remarked:

“It has been a pleasure to support the development of Kids&Us over the past five years and we are thrilled to be continuing our partnership. Since Corpfin’s investment Kids&Us has become a clear leader in the Spanish market and is optimally positioned for further global expansion.”

Advisors on the transaction include Houlihan Lokey (Charterhouse), Altamar Advisory Partners and Aldgate Capital Partners (Corpfin).
