Abac SV Fund II, FCR, and Abac S Value II, SCR, private equity funds managed by Abac Capital Manager SGEIC, S.A. ("Abac"), have acquired a majority stake in Iber Conseil with the aim of driving the development of its growth strategy, supporting its track record of excellence in the premium dairy market

Iber Conseil, founded four decades ago, is the leading distributor of cheeses and specialty dairy products in Spain, connecting premium cheese manufacturers from across Europe with the diverse Spanish market. With a turnover of 80 million euros, Iber Conseil markets over 10,000 tons of cheese sourced from all over Europe and manages more than 1,200 references from 170 suppliers through various distribution channels.

Abac's funds specialize in sustainable value investments, and Abac is the only Spanish mid-market asset manager with B Corp sustainability accreditation. With this investment, Abac aims to provide the company with the necessary strategic, operational, and financial resources to develop its expansion plan and continue its successful trajectory. Co-founder Laurent Cazorla will continue to be a significant shareholder, along with the current management team led by Christophe Roux.

Laurent Cazorla expressed excitement about Abac's involvement, stating that "Abac's resources and knowledge will enable Iber Conseil to complete the next phase of expansion, consolidating its leadership in the sector through various growth vectors and taking on new challenges within and beyond the Iberian Peninsula."

Christophe Roux, the company's CEO, believes that "with Abac's entry, we are embarking on a new phase at Iber Conseil, with the same commitment to customer service to bring value-added products to the market, but with more tools to continue growing the platform and a strong and dedicated team."

Oriol Pinya, founding partner of Abac Capital, highlighted that "the premium dairy products market has a growing and resilient demand, demonstrating strength through recent crises. Iber Conseil is highly regarded by its customers due to its wide product portfolio, commercial and operational flexibility, excellent service level, and professionalism, providing fundamental value to both customers and suppliers. Our ambition is to seize the opportunities ahead for the company while generating a positive impact, driving its growth in new markets and geographies, both organically and inorganically, through the acquisition of value-adding companies and by supporting small cheese-producing farms in rural areas."

This is the fourth investment of the second fund managed by Abac and exemplifies the type of operations Abac pursues: investing in solid medium-sized companies that can benefit from a local investor with global vision and positive impact, bringing sector expertise, sustainability, and digital and operational transformation.

In this transaction, subject to customary conditions for this type of transaction, Abac received advice from Deloitte (due diligence and legal) and KWM (tax). The sellers, on the other hand, were advised by EY (M&A and legal).
