Alantra, the global investment banking and asset management specialist, is pleased to announce the appointment of Xavier Pujol as Secretary General and Global General Counsel.
Mr Pujol joins as Partner and brings to the role more than 18 years of international legal experience in M&A, capital markets, corporate governance and restructurings. Since 2017, he has been the Secretary General and Secretary to the Board of Directors of PRISA, the leading business group in the creation and distribution of educational, information and entertainment contents in the Spanish & Portuguese-speaking markets, with presence in 24 countries. Xavier Pujol began his professional career at Cuatrecasas, was seconded to Herbert Smith and, afterwards was part of the team that launched Latham Watkins in Spain. In 2013 he joined PRISA as Deputy General Counsel
Mr Pujol holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Law from ESADE, visiting student at the University of Minnesota and a PLD from IESE

Xavier Pujol replaces Francisco Albella, who, for personal reasons, has decided to embark on a new phase in the Group, limiting his activities to Secretary to the Board of Directors and advisor on specific projects.
