Qualitas Equity Partners held a final closing of its first European private equity fund of funds, Qualitas Mutual Private Equity Fund I (“the Fund”), with an investment capacity of €60 million.

The new Fund, managed by Qualitas and led by Eric Halverson and Sergio García Huertas, is a Spanish investment vehicle focused on investing in “best-in-class” European Mid Market private equity funds. The fund invests throughout Europe, excluding Spain where Qualitas has an existing direct investment activity. The Fund attracted investors from Europe, North America and South America.

Qualitas Mutual Private Equity Fund I is focused on European Mid Market private equity, the market segment that has historically offered the highest returns for investors and the lowest volatility. Approximately 70% of the Fund has already been committed to eight leading private equity funds throughout Europe and to three co-investments. The Partners of Qualitas expect the Fund to be fully committed before the end of Q1 2017.

Qualitas Equity Partners is a Madrid-based alternative asset manager with three main investment areas: Private Equity Fund of Funds, Growth Capital and Renewable Energy. Since its founding in 2003, Qualitas has managed over €750 million. Its last direct private equity fund in Spain, QEP II (2006), generated a return of 3.7 times invested capital, making it one of the most successful funds in Spanish private equity history.
