Miura Partners has published the 2021 ESG Report, the fourth since 2017, and the first as Miura Partners. The firm reviews the milestones achieved in 2019 and 2020 with an integrated vision on business and ESG.

ESG progress

Despite a year marked by COVID-19, Miura Partners has maintained an outstanding investment pace accompanied by important achievements in terms of sustainability, for which the firm has reaffirmed its Responsible Investment model across the investment cycle. Starting with the pre-investment stage, undertaking ESG Due Diligences that led to the rejection of seven deals; continuing with the investment period, phase where Miura implements its ESG Blueprint in all its portfolio companies to define the ESG policy, the ESG Strategic Plan and the ESG KPIs reporting framework. Finally, in the divestment phase with the measurement of the value generated through transformation, innovation and sustainability.

Miura has also taken an active role with its stakeholders: the firm interviewed its main Limited Partners regarding their expectations and opportunities on ESG, trained its team on Climate Change, Human Rights and Responsible Supply Chains, and shared the best practices on sustainability among their portfolio companies’ CEOs and ESG leaders. In addition, Miura complied with the EU’s Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) and met its reporting commitments with PRI (Principles for Responsible Investment).

Impact Ambitions

One of the most significant Miura’s milestones has been the definition of Impact ambitions in each of its portfolio companies so that, beyond financial and non-financial performance, they commit to objectives and actions aligned with their business that have a direct impact on socioeconomic well-being and environmental health.

Thus, each portfolio company have defined its impact ambition under the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and have established a series of indicators to measure its progress. Currently Miura has nine companies in its portfolio and all of them have defined their impact ambition on environmental and social issues, such as circular economy, reduction of emissions, sustainable agriculture, diversity & inclusion, reducing the digital gap or fostering healthy lifestyle habits.

According to Juan Eusebio Pujol, ESG & Operating Partner at Miura Partners, “our latest ESG report is a clear example of our commitment to sustainability. Since 2017 we have been reporting our progress on ESG and this year we publish our fourth ESG report as Miura Partners, maintaining our essence, transparency and accountability. It is by building solid partnerships and working in close collaboration with our portfolio companies that we can maximize their value creation and impact generation potential.”
