Mind the Byte has taken out loans valued at €175,000 with the Empresa Nacional de Innovación (ENISA - National Innovation Enterprise), under the purview the Spanish Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness, and the Institut Català de Finances (ICF - Catalan Finance Institute), owned by the Government of Catalonia, in order to push forward with its international expansion plan through 2020.

The former is a loan through the ENISA Competitiveness programme to fund business projects aimed at expansion and boosting competitiveness. And the latter is a loan to support projects of corporate SMEs and entrepreneurship.

This completes the crowdequity round valued at over €234,000 that the company closed late last year through the Crowdcube platform. "We've had a good year of growth and are now looking to 2017 with a better outlook", says Dr Alfons Nonell-Canals, founder and CEO of Mind the Byte. In 2016, Mind the Byte has seen revenue rise to €100,000, consolidated deals with pharmaceutical companies like Ferrer and research centres of excellence like the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC), and expanded its team and facilities at the Barcelona Science Park (PCB), among other milestones.
