Founded in 2018, Genesis Ventures is an investment vehicle of the consulting firm Genesis Biomed, specialised in the creation of innovative biotech companies. With headquaters in Barcelona and Madrid and with a clear international vocation, Genesis Ventures has a team of 11 experienced and highly qualified professionals. Genesis Ventures will invest in recently created startups or entrepreneurial projects with the aim to develop innovativ solutions in the biomedical and biotechnological field (therapeutics, diagnostics, medical devices and others).

The investment platform is envisaged as an early-stage tool to help the development of excellent scientific projects to reach key value milestones to attract a first round of investment from venture or corporate funds.

The fund of Genesis Ventures is of 2.000.000 € coming from family offices. So far it has invested in 12 spinoff and startups in the biotech and medical device sectors.

Management of family offices funds and investment in recently created startups and spinofsf with the goal to develop innovative products in the biomedical and biotech sectors (therapeutics, diagnostics, medical devices and others).

Genesis Ventures funds projects with tickets of 50K to 100K, depending on the stage of the project and its needs.

The fund is managed by Genesis Biomed, a prestigious biotech consultancy firm founded by

Josep Lluís Falcó, a highly recognised professional with more than 20 years experience in the sector. Genesis Biomed is a member of European consortiums EIT Health, EIT Food and EIT Digital, that facilitate the access to European funds and to a wide network of top level international partners.

Genesis Biomed offers the following services:

Business Plan

Preparation of business plans for spin-off or start-up companies, taking into account market, positioning, regulatory, development, IP, team and financials.

Private Fundraising

Definition of the fundraising strategy. Selection of private investors among a wide personal network and assistance in the fundraising and negotiation.

Interim CEO

For those start-up companies with an incomplete team. Serving as CEO and leading the Project until identifying and hiring a full-time CEO.

Follow-up and supervision

For those companies developing a project after a first capital round, continuous supervision and support in the strategic decision making of the company, serving as Board observer if needed.

Market Analysis

Preparation of market and competitors analysis using robust databases, knowledge management tools and fieldwork (interviews and focus groups).

Regulatory and Development Plan

Preparation of regulatory roadmaps including regulatory strategy and development plans for biopharma, medtech, diagnostic, nutra and cosmetic.

Business Development

For companies and research centres. In-licensing and out-licensing activities. Well established BD process built in the last 10 years + wide network of contacts.

Strategic Planning

Preparation of strategic plans for research centres and companies, including internal/external diagnostic, vision, strategic objectives and action plan.

Technology Transfer

Bridging between academic groups and technology transfer offices or research centres. Definition of the licensing strategy and definition of the terms.

Public funding

Assist start-up companies and research centres in the preparation of the public funding strategy. Preparation of applications, submission and follow-up.
