Ramondin is dedicated to the manufacture and sale of tin capsules, aluminium capsules, champagne capsules, PVC capsules and screw caps with high added-value for wines, spirits and champagne and this will strengthen its position in Chile with FIEX support, which COFIDES manages.

To do so, COFIDES will provide financing of €17 million to Ramondin Chile, SA, structured through the FIEX Fund.

With this contribution, the company plans to close, through its Chilean subsidiary, the acquisition of a leading company in its sector, INESA, dedicated to the production and distribution of aluminium screw cap oriented to the wine market. This combination of synergies will allow Ramondin to take the lead in the Latin American market, being the only global supplier capable of offering the complete range of products and services in that market.

Ramondin, leader in the manufacture and sale of capsules, has a global presence and operates in 55 countries. It also has four production plants located in Spain, France, Argentina and the United States. With the acquisition of INESA, the group will expand its commercial network and customer portfolio, as well as reaching more than 800 employees in the group.

After the signing of the financial agreement between COFIDES and Ramondin, COFIDES chairman, Salvador Marín, stressed COFIDES’ support to direct foreign investment, "contributing to the competitiveness of Spanish companies and consolidating their home market". He went on to express his confidence in this operation, saying, "Ramondin will be further strengthened and be able to continue to grow, driving forward their internationalisation and innovation".

Ramondin is a century-old company founded in 1890 in Ibarra. It is a group with a strong family business culture and a strong commitment to CSR. In fact, it is the only capsule company certified in Social Responsibility management by AENOR (IQNet SR10) and the only one signatory of the United Nations Global Compact.

COFIDES is a combined private-public concern, which since 1988 has provided financial support to Spanish enterprises abroad. COFIDES manages the FIEX and FONPYME funds on behalf of the State Secretariat for Trade, within The Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness. The stockholders include the Bank of Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA), Santander Bank, Popular Bank, Sabadell Bank and CAF (Development Bank of Latin America).
