The call for applications for the XVII everis Awards has been opened. Once again this year, the everis foundation seeks to promote innovation and research in order to support entrepreneurship, offering an award worth 60,000 euros and consulting services worth 10,000 euros.

The candidate projects may come from any country in the world and must register online before the 2nd of April at www.premioseveris.es (Spanish) or www.everisawards.com (English). The projects must lie within one of these categories: Biotechnology and Health, Industrial Technologies, and New Business Models in the Digital Economy.

After a thorough examination of all applications, where the level of innovation, the business model and the solution proposed in each project will be considered, the everis foundation will call for the semi-finals in Spain. Each selected entrepreneur will present their project before a jury of experts formed by everis executives and clients, with extensive experience in the assessment of entrepreneurial projects. New this year is the option offered by the everis foundation to all semi-finalists to take part in the Open Innovation Contest, organized by NTT DATA to bring entrepreneurs closer to the Asian market.

After this process, finalists of each category will be awarded a package of consulting services worth 10 000 euros aimed at helping entrepreneurs to further develop and improve their projects. Once concluded this mentoring period, the jury of the everis foundation will select the winning project.

The everis Awards have become more and more internationalized over the last years: in the last edition, projects came from more than 30 countries. Among the six finalist projects, the everis Award 2017 was given to the Spanish company Zeleros, developer of the technology to build the Hyperloop transport system vehicle. In addition, a € 10 000 second prize was awarded to the Colombian project Interacpedia, a digital co creation platform that connects the university world with the entrepreneurial ecosystem, allowing for the transformation of academic proposals into innovative projects.

According to Karla Alarcón, Director of the everis foundation, ‘this XVII edition of our Awards to Entrepreneurship demonstrates our commitment to promoting technological projects that seek to improve our society. We contribute to entrepreneurship by making available the skills and abilities of the more than 20 000 professionals that are part of everis, which makes these Awards unique and extremely valuable for the entrepreneurial ecosystem’.
