King & Wood Mallesons ("KWM") funds team is advising Kibo Ventures on the launch and first closing of its third venture capital fund, which has a target size of €100 million. The strategy of this new investment vehicle, which plans to invest in around 20 European startups over the next few years, focuses on big data, artificial intelligence, logistics, fintech, healthcare and e-learning sectors.
Isabel Rodríguez, partner at KWM, oversees the coordination of the legal team that is advising Kibo Ventures in this project. Other relevant members include partner Ildefonso Alier and associate Patricia Martínez.
In addition to several institutional investors, Kibo Ventures also incorporate to this new project 20 successful entrepreneurs who will bring their knowledge and experience to the companies invested by the fund.
Once the fundraising process for this new fund is complete, Kibo Ventures, a venture capital firm founded by Aquilino Peña, Javier Torremocha and José María Amusátegui, will add more than €220 million euros in assets under management.
