Javier García de Enterría has been appointed the partner in charge of the Clifford Chance Corporate practice area in Spain. As from 1 October Javier will lead the Corporate team of the international firm's Spanish offices, replacing Jose María Fernández-Daza, who will continue with the firm as corporate partner. The appointment is in accordance with the firm's policy for management duties to be assumed by the partners on a rotational basis.
Javier has more than 25 years of professional experience and is a Senior Professor of Corporate Law (on extended leave). He joined Clifford Chance in 2001 as an expert on commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions as well as the stock exchange. Since then he has advised on many of the most relevant national and international deals in the Spanish market, contributing technical excellence, an in-depth knowledge of the market, and broad practical expertise on corporate deals.
Javier is specialised in corporate matters, and in particular M&A transactions, affecting both listed as well as "private" companies, and is an authority on stock exchange law – comprising flotation, capital increases, the issue of convertible securities and corporate governance. Together with other partners in the network, Javier also directs the firm's strategy on knowledge management and thought leadership.

Javier will lead a team comprised of seven partners and forty-five associates specialised in all areas of Corporate/M&A transactions, a team that is actively involved in many of the defining transactions of the current national and international arena.
