Investindustrial acquires Ginefiv, the leading Madrid-based fertility clinic

Universal Clinics S.L.U. has acquired Ginefiv SL (“Ginefiv” or the “Company”), one of the leading Madrid-based fertility clinics and a pioneer in In-Vitro Fertilization (“IVF”) in Spain, from its founding partners. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The transaction is subject to customary antitrust approvals and is expected to close in Q1 2019.

Founded in 1987 by doctors José Bajo Arenas and Alberto Martínez de Arenaza, Ginefiv is one of the longest-standing clinics in Spain with over 30 years of history, and is the leading single clinic in Madrid with a strong presence of domestic patients as well as an increasing international customer base. Dr. Bajo and Martínez de Arenaza will continue to support the management and growth of Ginefiv alongside Investindustrial.

The clinic employs a team of 100 people in the Madrid area including highly reputed gynaecologists, biologists, pharmacists, psychologists and nurses. Ginefiv performs more than 4,500 treatments annually including donor and non-donor IVF, and provides services such as fertility preservation.
