Futureco Bioscience continues to grow in Peru with support from COFIDES

Futureco Bioscience, a manufacturer of organic fertilisers and plant protection products, specialised in the manufacture of high quality biostimulants and natural biopesticides, contines to grow in Peru with financial support from COFIDES. To this end, COFIDES has granted a loan of 300,000 Euros funded through its own resources. The total project investment equates to 375,000 Euros

The company has been in Peru since 2018 and has experienced considerable growth in recent years. Futureco Bioscience also benefited from the support of COFIDES in 2020. This new project will ensure an adequate supply of products by the Peruvian subsidiary, will boost the development of new products and will help with their subsequent distribution to customers.

Futureco Bioscience, which began its trajectory in 1993 in Catalonia, develops its own lines of research to obtain new products (biostimulants such as rooting agents, amino acids, algae, phosphorus solubilizers, and biocontrol products such as fungicides, bactericides and zero residue insecticides) that optimise crop yields, without risks to the environment. The corporate values that set Futureco Bioscience apart include its commitment to innovation and quality, along with its commitment to the environment and sustainability in its processes.

COFIDES chairman, José Luis Curbelo, highlighted the importance of supporting SMEs with innovative projects that, through their work, “make agriculture more sustainable and respectful to the environment”. For this reason, “it is grafifying to be able to support Futureco Bioscience in this project that aligns with our strategy to invest so we can improve food security, support sustainability and boost inclusive development.

THE PROJECT'S CONTRIBUTION TO ACHIEVING THE SDGs

This project has a particular focus on achieving Sustainable Development Goal 2, Zero hunger, given the company's operations contribute to ensuring the sustainability of the food production systems through the supply of products that have less environmental impact to the agricultural sector. As a result, it helps with the transition from traditional farming to more sustainable organic farming.
